Slipknot, Hatebreed, OTEP
{ Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater }

Friday, August 05, 2005 3:10:38 PM
Promoter: Clear Channel Entertainment
Security: General Event Staff hired by the venue
Where: Virginia Beach, United States
When: 8/29/04
Stage: outdoors

It was an all day festival called the Lunatic Luau 8. It is an annual concert hosted at this amphitheater every year by a local radio station. 15 bands played throughout the day and for the most part, the crowd was under control. Once Hatebreed got onstage though, all hell broke loose. Security were being very rough and throwing patrons back into the circle pits when they were trying to get out. Stretcher after stretcher was seen taking patrons out due to mosh related injuries. The security was in part to blame due to their lack of experience I guess. They were way too rough. The crowd reacted to staff's actions by throwing hard plastic bottles at them. They deserved it in my opinion. Luckily I escaped without any serious injuries besides some severe bruises and a sprained ankle. I know some other people got hurt really bad though.
